A Tribute to a Cherished Friend, Colleague, and Much-Loved Member of Our Team
It is with deep sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Stephen Garvey—known to many of our customers as Francis—a valued member of our Customer Support Team. Stephen was known not only for his skill and dedication but for his warmth, humour, kindness, and his well-known love of biscuits.
Background and Personal Life
Stephen was born in Worcestershire and attended Hagley RC High School in the small village of Far Forest. He studied AVCE in Advanced Computer & Engineering and Music Technology, later graduating from Manchester with a degree in Sound Design & DSP Programming.
He eventually relocated to rural Pembrokeshire, South Wales, living on a peninsula within the UK’s only coastal national park alongside his partner Emma. Before joining Tree View Designs, he worked on digital projects related to the 2012 Olympics and London Marathons while based in London.
Professional Contributions
Stephen was at the heart of our support team, playing a vital role in some of our most challenging times. During the Primary Care global IT outage in July 2024, his calm expertise and tireless dedication helped guide practices through an extraordinarily difficult period. He also contributed significantly to Tree View Designs achieving Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation—a milestone that reflected his commitment to the highest professional standards.
Beyond Work
Outside of his professional life, Stephen had a passion for programming modular synthesizers and sound design. He was someone who found joy in the creative intersection of technology and art. And, of course, there was always tea and biscuits.
Remembering Stephen
Stephen will be deeply missed by everyone at Tree View Designs and by the many customers whose practices he supported. His warmth, his humour, and his quiet dedication left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Our thoughts remain with his partner Emma, his family, and all who knew and loved him.
